Well, we're behind on updates as we sort out computer issues so watch out for a posting-flurry.
In the meantime I thought I'd give a play-by-play of confusing news from Zambia: The President, Levy Mwanawasa, suffered from a stroke while in Egypt a few days back. He was possibly flown to a private hospital in Paris in a coma or....semi-coma (what does this mean?). This morning, a news report was released: Mwanawasa had died. South African President Thabo MBeki observes a moment of silence, regrets are expressed all around.
Then MBeki issues a statement saying that Zambia has denied Mwanawasa's death and revises his statement, wishing him a full, speedy recovery.
And from Zambia? What do we hear? He's had a stroke in Egypt, he is now in Paris, he is stable, he is being treated for hypertension....
It's all very interesting. We will certainly be keeping an ear to the news these coming days.
